If you and your other competitors are using Repricing tools, this could potentially lead to a race to the bottom, meaning that your prices will go down and down until one of you reach the Minimum Price.
1) Use the Sleep Mode
To help you prevent a price war, RepricerExpress offers a Profit Protection option, also called Sleep Mode.
The Sleep Mode in RepricerExpress will help you push all your prices to Max during a certain time frame, generally at night (for example from 1 am to 4 am). During this time, your prices will go to Max and your competitor prices will also follow you up. This means that when the Sleep Mode is over your prices will be higher again.
Do not forget to tick the option 'Reset to Max' when you select the Sleep Mode with RepricerExpress, otherwise, it will simply stop the Repricing during the time frame. When using the Sleep Mode, you will be able to choose between using it on all your SKUs or only the SKUs where you are not currently the Buy Box Winner.
Note: Please make sure your time zone settings are correct when setting up the Sleep Mode.
2) Use Automations when a Price War is detected:
Another alternative would be to use an Automation when a price war is detected. You can use the Price War trigger in the 'Product Status Preferences' screen to determine what a Price War is to you:
You can then use an automation, so that every time a SKU is in a 'Price war' situation (in our example, every time a SKU changes price more than 6 times in 1hr), it will get automatically moved to a new Repricing Rule, where you can maybe set to 'Match' or 'Price above' instead of 'Beat'.
As soon as the Price War is over, the SKU will be automatically moved back to its default rule.
3) Ignore certain sellers
Depending on the situation, it can be that certain sellers listed under the ASINs tend to drag their prices down. If this is the case then what you can do is exclude them by Seller ID in your Repricing Rule, that way you'll not follow them down in price.
You can find this option in the 'Advanced Settings' section of your Rule:
